Question about aftermarket header collector sizes
What are the size of most headers for a bseries motor? The 99-00 si headers? I have a megan racing one and I have an exhaust leak. I bought a ebay resonator thinking that would solve my problem, but I have a pretty big exhaust leak. Is the size of the flange on those resonators made for stock headers only? The collector size is bigger than the stock b16 header, im just not sure how big it is. Anyone run into any problems similar to this? Anyone had exhaust leak problems?
Thanks
Mike

Re: Question about aftermarket header collector sizes (Padawan)
Ya, a stock header has a 2" collector, not aftermarket bseries headers..
Anyone have any experience or problems with exhaust leaks with aftermarket larger headers?

Actually, many aftermarket headers also have 2" collectors. Any header designed to bolt up to the factory cat (e.g., DC Sports, Comptech, Greddy, etc.) will have a collector that is the same size as stock.
The "JDM-sized" headers and most custom headers feature 2.5" collectors. If you purchase one of these, you will either have to modify the stock cat with a larger flared flange, or switch to a true 2.5" high-flow cat or test pipe. I recommend SMSP for high-flow cats that bolt right up.

Re: Question about aftermarket header collector sizes (Padawan)
Ya I emailed megan racing ( they make my header) and asked them the size of the collector. It is 2.25. I suppose this is why i have a leak eh? Lol. Anyone know the size of a OEM catylic converter. I wana run a stock cat beacuse Im goign to have a n1 style catback and dont like the really loud exhaust sound. Any other suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thanks.
