Default question

i dont have my ebrake cables hooked up right now since i did my 5 lug. question is, Is it bad to leave my car parked with it in gear in parking lots ect, for extended periods of time? ive been doing it now for almost 1 week. i try to avoid hills ect for obvious reasons, but i just wanted to know if im doing any terrible dammage to my tranny?

As long as you hold the clutch in when you take it out of gear i dont see anything wrong with it.

It's bad in the sense that you are putting stress on your tranny when you don't have to now don't flame me just stating the obvious even know I know it is probably minimul, but why? Second if your car is parked and some dumbfuck hits your parked car expect to see some tranny damage. Finally, your car can STILL move with it being in gear. I would never rely on my transmission to keep my car parked. Even on auto cars I use the parking brake...or maybe it's just me. I'm sure you will get a lot of feedback good/bad on this.

True points, but if it's a momentary thing, i'm sure it wont be a big deal.

yeah i was thinking the same thing, but i do not plan on having to rely on my tanny to keep me parked. i just havent gottne the cables yet fromhonda+ there 100+ for them but 100 for cables is better than 600+ for a tranny.
