Question on 38mm offset for Mugen RNR's?
 

Hi guys, I'm new here so please don't flame me...I have no clue on the offset stuff when it comes to wheels, so, I wanted to know if anyone knows if 38mm offset Mugen RNR's would fit my 99 si with no rubbing issues or sticking out too far, etc.?? BTW, my car is pretty low even though I'm riding on H&R sport springs...any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

it shouldn't be too much of a problem

it'll almost be flush with the side of the car. If you have camber kits that straighten the wheel you might have some rubbing issues, but if you have enough camber you won't have rubbing issues, although it'll be hell on the tires.

EDIT: i have camber kits for all four corners and have them adjusted accordingly to prevent rubbing, maximize the contact patch, and reduce premature tirewear https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Also depends on the tires. If you run 205/50/15 azenis you might have some rubbing issues, but that's an exception. azenis seem to actually be a much wider tire than what is rated. +38 is pretty common for aftermarket wheels on ek/em civics.

another EDIT: i almost forgot 6.5" wheels are my width, 7" width wheels stick out 1/4" more so keep the width of the wheels in mind also https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Here are the +38 offset wheels, they're 15x6.5 with 205/50/15 kumho asx's

notice the driver's-side rear. That's the only one i'm close to having a problem with. The clearance with that is about 4mm and it rubs on hard left handers, but i usually don't take them with those wheels since they're my all-season's.

the fronts are a little more and the passenger's rear is about -1.5

Oh OK...that doesn't look too bad. But since you did say that there are some rubbing issues on the left rear for the reason stated, I'll have to say I'll probably wait till someone has some +45mm Mugen RNRs (Silver or Black w/red lip) for sale. it's stock.

I used to have a greddy evo, but muffler deterioration + tickets and hassle from cops made me get rid of it. It was really loud when it started to deteriorate.

just keep in mind that i also have rubbing issues with my stock wheels and azenis. They rub on the inside of the fenderwell when i auto-x. So it really depends on the set up. Sorry for any confusion.

this is a similar question....

i was wondering about the 15" slipstreams....

both the 6.5" and 7" wheels have a +40mm offset

does anyone know if the 7" has a bigger lip....or is the lip the same and the exrta .5" is on the inside of the rim

I have seem slips that have a nice lip and some that have hardly no lip....I'm thinking of getting a set but want a decent lip...and i'm trying to decide what size looks like what

That's Ok...I have the same issues with my stocks also when I'm making real sharp turns or if I hit a pothole hard enough. But my car is really low for what the springs are rated at by H&R...I'm thinking about possibly getting some of those Omnipower USA full coilovers. get D2's....only around $700-$800 and they have dampening ajustablility.
