Q's about ZC engines
my friend found a 93 eg with a ZC engine (50k on it), 150k on the car
for 2500...is this a good deal?
also, how are the zc engines
1800cc, no vtec, sohc? ~130whp...
should u just go for a b16a swap for ~2g's?
also, how do the ZC's react to FI kits or Nitrous kits, are there a lot for them,
any fast ZC's out there?
thanks

Re: Q's about ZC engines (comptechgsr)
I'm suprised that someone actually put a ZC into an EG. The ZC is a 1.6 liter DOHC non-vtec. It is basically a hopped up jdm version of the D16A1, which is found in the 1st generation Integra. The D16A1 has 112-115 horsepower, while the JDM ZC version has 130.
The ZC is an OK engine, and mostly they are swapped into CRX's and EF Civics. Like I said, I'm suprised that someone actually took time to swap it into the EG chasis, considering that the D16Z6 (1.6 liter SOHC VTEC) has only 5 less horsepower. Oh well. I would get the car, since 50,000 is fairly low for a ZC.
The B16 is a better engine than the ZC, but you can still get some power out of it. The ZC reacts to N20 and FI just like any other engine. Be careful and do your research before you spend the money on that stuff and have to get a new engine. Also, the B16 is easier to internally prepare for that stuff, simply because there are more parts available.

Re: Q's about ZC engines (accord55)
i say buy it cuz where i live an eg will go from 2k-5k and thats stock in fair cond. i would then sell the zc and get a b16 or b18c but your better off with a b18c or even a b20 or b18b or if really hungry for power h22 but thats a whole diff. story.
oh well whatever you do i do recommend you get it good deal
