Q# for those that run hid in eg with jdm headlights?
Thanks,
My sponsor is wanting to give me a set real cheap for my car. (Set of hid's) The only issue I may see is that the jdm lamps run on a h4h bulb that isnt the same size as a h4 bulb. What have you guys done or how do you run your hid set up? I hear people will just trim the headlight housing to fit it smoothly.
Oh and when i say same size (in case anyone wants to be stupid) I mean the end of the light that clips in isnt the same size, h4h = smaller then h4
Anyways please let me know and I thank you all in advance.
Kenny

I don't believe anyone makes an HID kit with h4h bulbs. And if they did, it would be expensive as ****.

some of us just obey the law and not retro fit hid's on cars that dont have them. i have a set of raybrig h4h hyper whites and i will not swap them over hid's.

Re: (boostedcivicsir)
^Bump^.... i want to know as well. I'm planning on getting CTR headlights and i want to upgrade to HID's. One other thing that i noticed with the CTR headlights is that there's no shield for the h4h bulb. Is that normal?? Would that scatter light everywhere even though it's not HID?? Someone answer this. Thanks

To above. I run a piaa h4h hyper white and the light is great. Anyways, Ill go get em from my sponsor and see if I can fit them and they work well and if not, No loss.
blah blah, retro fit hid. You do it right, It looks right. I would not drive with them if they produced too much glare and or had too many hot spots at all. Im smart and dont need cops to pull me over for stupid reasons
thanks guys.

hahaha. why dont you do it right and put projector housings inside your jdm headamp? true HID lights are projector housings and only about 6000k, so you're going to hack up your jdm headlights to put some hid "retro" kit inside not even made for your bulb application and your doing it right?.......sure guy

Do it projector, do it right. Do it no higher than 4500k.

Re: (accordselux)
wow, I get love when i post my car but i ask a simple question and get this.
I go to shows to win best jdm or try and win my class. I would NEVER EVER put a projector housing in a jdm light. Sorry, hahaha
and retro fit my fkin ***. You guys have no clue then.
Ive had about 6 different sets of jdm headlights and my first 3 were all modded to fit h4 bulbs and the lighting was perfect.
Anyways , say as you want, when i have it in and fiting perfect, you can talk **** then.
I asked a simple question and thanks to those that wanted to help out. Sorry I just wouldnt use a projo housing

Re: (B18C GSR CIVIC)
you said you have moded the other headlights with the H4 right? do the same thing. also, i wouldnt recomend doing it to a JDM headlight. coz my friend did it to his and since the JDM ones are plastic, it blurred it out. so now he swap back to US headlights.

Sorry you spend your weekends making your car JDM
If you plan on just trailering the car, go for the HID kit. If you actually drive your car at night, do the retrofit. If you really want, use your stockers and do a retrofit in those and swap them out at the shows...
