Q: Gears shift without the clutch

My gears never before shifted without the clutch being in when the car is turned off. I noticed it last week and just wondering if anyone knows what this means for my car. Am I going to have to spend alot of money to get this fixed? Also my car has been kind of idleing funny. Any suggestions would be great!

Thats normal for gears to go in while car is off

reason I asked is because before I had to push the clutch in to get the gears to go into 1st.2nd.3rd and so on.

While the engine was off? I bet before you could have gotten it into gear too. You'd just have to play with the synchro's. Jiggle and/or rock it back and forth into any gear.

I have been able to shift the gears on every car that I have driven new or old without pressing the clutch, it's normal.

Whats the mileage on your tranny?

I think its just a coincidence that this is happening. I can go through my gears fine without holding in the clutch, and my tranny has about 60k on it.

I think you either just didn't notice it before or you have been parking with a load on the transmission. (like pointed down/up hill in gear before setting the parking brake)

With no load on the tranny and the engine off you can shift freely.
