A lot of thing you cannot remove, but you could replace to save weight. Metal parts, glass... etc
Removing parts is free, but re&re with lighter parts can get expensive, and depends on how picky you want to get.
Your best bet is to increase HP if you want your car to go faster as oppose to shave off a couple lbs. True, lighter car does have the advantage of being going a ted faster. But this is so minimal that it is almost not worth the effort.
However, if you like the process of doing so, like taking things apart and whatnot, then by all means, give it a try. But if you want your car to go faster, this is not goint to work as well as you may thing of.

Well you can get vx wheels for about 100-150 bucks around here, there the same size as steelies (unless you have 14" steelies), and a hell of alot lighter. If you don't wanna do that I would look into getting that lightweight battery, they are under $60.

it's an EX?removing the sunroof is an easy way to drop weight.replace the glass with any number of things depending on what you want to spend.
i removed the whole assembly in my car a couple years ago.right now i have the stock glass solidly mounted, but i have a C/F filler i just have to find the time to install.

Re: puttin the pig a diet (hatch34)
How much weight can pulling out your back seat really save you? I know the rear cushin can't be more than 2 or 3 lbs. You can pull out your carpet, your passenger seat if no one ever rides with you. You can pull out your spare, carpet in the rear, jack stand, jumper cables if you have them.
For a daily driver I wouldn't pull out the windshield washer fluid thing. So many times I've had dirt/bird **** hit my window. Plus its good in light rain.
You could always go on a diet too.

I am gonna be putting my car on a diet soon as well. I don't use the ac much so it's time to say good bye.
Also going to replace the rear sides with lexan. May not be alot of weight but since they are up high I think it is a good idea.
Also I think even though I may regret ti later I will be taking out my sunroof and replacing it with a carbon plug. 30-40 pounds right off the top of the car will do wonders for the handling.
Any idea how much weight these modifications will actualy remove? Also doesn't it require some horsepower to turn the ac pulley even when it's off. Imagine it's take quite a few pounds of torque at 6000 rpm to turn it.

Re: puttin the pig a diet (hatch34)
you could (if you live in a sunny place) drive without your hood off!!! haha
or just replace your hood/trunk with carbon fiber replacements..
dont fill your gas tank past halfway..thats i what i do...or try n keep it around half..
i removed my rear seats bla bla bla everything behind my driver/passenger seats (without removing sound deadening stuff) and i shaved off about 50 lbs i say.. i also have cf hood so that takes off a few more....

Re: puttin the pig a diet (eg4usdm)
i would get rid of the sunroof, remove the power locks, power window assembly etc. the power steering could also save some weight. carbon fiber hood, lightweight battery.
