So i put in a swap in my 93 VX hatchy... b16a ... and just threw it in and vtec would hit @ 6200.. ecu is a P28...

now i put in my exhaust system (i was just running a header lol) and now i dont hear vtec... maybe its just too quiet, but i dont hear anything after 6 grand...

i gotta wire vtec now or wha?!

You never had it wired in the first place? Or what? Open header is going to sound a lot different than a full catback

yea.. i never wired it cause i figured it was already wired for vtec... my old VX engine had vtec... so i fugre it would be okay not to, and that was the case cause when i put the swap in, vtec would kick in hard @ 6,200 rpm

now it doesnt!

Yes, the b16a when I put the swap in engaged vtec ( i was jsut running a header so it was really loud )

then i put piping and a exhaust, now no vtec... im guessing i gotta wire it now hahaha

this makes no sense I dont think its possible for and exhaust to stop vtec from engaging. My guess is since its not as loud as open header, you think its not there....you should be able to feel it tho

vtec should kick in at 5500 not 6200, your vtec solenoid is near your distributor to the lower front of the distributor where your cam seal is check to see if you have the plug in . the wiring should bve the same, i ran sohc vtec wire harness for an ls motor in a hatch
