Purple HID's
I was wondering if anyone could tell me who makes the purplest (if thats even a word) HID kits for an EG. Any feedback would be really apreciated, thanks!

Re: Purple HID's
Your looking for a 8,000-10,000k hid kit. I personally wouldn't recommend it. I had 8,000k in some tyc projectors (yes they suck i know). The light out put gets less the higher the numbers get. Imo

its not just your opinion, its fact. the number getting higher does not mean the light gets brighter, it's the exact opposite. the brightest you can get is pure white which is right around 4300k i believe.

well i figured as much lol. i just wanted to clarify about the light output. and i should mention i've seen purple hids on a car in person and they are really not bright at all. seems like it'd be a real pain to drive with. not to mention cops would have a hay day if they saw you at night lol.

Re: Purple HID's
Since we're on the discussion of cops and HID's I just ordered my 3500k (Golden Yellow) HID's and was wondering if cops will F with me or not because I can still change my order

Re: Purple HID's
I doubt it - they're probably whiter than stock halogen bulbs, which are more like 3200k.

noooo, stock is like 4300k. yellow is actually going under the white spectrum or whatever u call it. it is brighter but its a yellow light not white. thats why alot of ppl use it for there fogs because it gives an awesome light output...

Re: Purple HID's
i had 12k purple hids on my coupe and trust me do not get them. They weren't bad to see with at night, but i had them for about 3 months and no cop problems. But one week was hell i got pulled over literally every night coming from work. So i changed them back to stock.

Re: Purple HID's
if you want purple its 12k or 14k.
but dont they suck.
if your buying hids go 4300k maybe 6 or 8 but no higher. i have 6000k and love them.
and you will get pulled over

Re: Purple HID's
The most purple HIDs are going to be in the 12,000 K heat range although you may want to check with local police to see if such headlights are legal in your area. Some states have laws against certain color headlights; similarly, some outlaw the on-road use of HID's in cars which didnt offer them from the factory...this stems mainly from the improper refraction of the headlight beam. I'm sure you've seen cars with obnoxiously bright HIDs...they dont have focal projectors like they're supposed to. Instead, they use the old style mirrored dispersion and have grating on the headlight lense.
