I have a stock 96 del sol s with a d16. It is throwing the code PO441 and I have checked/replaced everything but the purge valve solenoid and it's still coding.

I think I found where it is but need to know how to replace it? Is the purge valve on the 96-00 civic going to be compatible? Also, are no after market purge valves for the 96 del sol? I have been looking with no luck online or at any auto parts stores. Every junk yard I contact says they don't have one. I just don't want to wait the 12-16 days from the honda dealer.

Any help, instructions, pictures or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

Had any luck with this? I have a 95 del Sol and I'm looking for a replacement Evap purge control solenoid valve.

Interesting thing is, my honda dealership computer system says that my car doesn't even have one.....though its in the honda shop manual, and is clearly on the car.

you can get the same purge solenoid off any '96 - '00 Civic. Btw, i'm not sure how it works in the US but over here in Canada when I order something from my local dealership as long as I order it by 2pm I have it at 8am the next day 99% of the time, the odd time it has to come from vancover and takes an extra day.

Its definitely there, can come from any '92 - '95 civic or Del Sol.

You don't need the purge valve. You could just take it off or undo the hose, at least to test.

Depends on where you are, some places (california for one) require that it be there, you can get away with it in most states though.
