take pictures. remember the saying, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. make sure nothing else is damaged. drive it. check all the door locks. look at the ignition. dont get someone elses problem.

not bad clean
make sure at the time you turn ON the car, the check engine light ''CEL'' go on THEN OFF.
IF THERE IS A PROBLEM MOST PEOPLE REMOVE THE ''CEL'' BULB LIGHT FROM THE CLUSTER... 0.1

maybe its just me and the OP but i dont really see a vtec solenoid either...and even if it does have th d16y8 manifold and the d16z6 motor...its still not a stock 2000 ex and it will probably be throwing a CEL since its an OBD2 car. OP try to get the engine code off the block..it wont be a bad thing to get it with a d16z6 but, id still look into it.

also - even if the seller did swap the motor...why did he swap it and why would he put a different valve cover on it??

Unless I'm mistaken, you see the 'Vtec Oil Pressure switch' Plug right here, as well as the top bolt on the tip of the solenoid:
(Since I know that connector is green on my old Y8 head as an example)

i dunno, i could be wrong...but the solenoid on my y8 was unmistakable..it could just be a bad pic, but to me it looks like a non-vtec d15 with a y8 IM.

oh, and that car does look amazing...get it on principal alone.

get a picture of the motor stamp. the dizzy plug looks like the obd2b, and the y8 manifold is there, along with the vtec solenoid and plug.

I can see the tip of the solenoid in the picture Dasfinc Quoted and circled. It just seems like its sitting lower than usual.

If the price is good and the picture isnt hiding dents and scratches I'd buy the car regardless.
