put one hook on the alternator bracket and te other on one of the loop bracket on the tranny..that is if you chain have a hook on each end..
if it just a chain then use a 14mm or 17mm which ever bolt and hook it to the same place that i just mentioned...

i used a bolt on the side of the head i think and the other one i used the tranny bracket...
Pulling the motor up was hard for me because of ac compressor hitting.. So I just dropped it from the bottom and pulled it out.

I pulled my z6 by myself one night, and did not have one problem. Check out the helms. Find the last top right bolt on the driverside where the PS bracket is. Now look on the back side of the head, There will be a hole with no bolt in it. Just put a thick bolt through there. The other spot is on the tranny. It is a brass color loop, that you basicly just hook something to that. And as everyone else said, buy a leveler. I bought mine for $25 and it was worth every penny

yep, I think that I might have used the PS bracket mount bolt on the exact oppisite side of that hole, since I was not going to use PS anyways.

theres usually a bolt hole behind the head right next to the t-belt cover, and the other side use the loop bracket as mentioned before on the tranny.
edit: looks like soneone already said exactly what i did

woo hoo...finally pulled my motor out today all by myself. i did it in 4 1/2 hours non-stop without power tools. not bad for my first time. the only problem i had was that my neighbor's cherry picker was low on oil and so i couldn't lift the motor to clear the front. i had to carry the motor and rest it on the support frame, move the cherry picker back and then carry it out again to finally get it out. i only scratched the front bumper a lil bit but the bumper already has big gashes from rocks on the road anyways, so i wasnt upset at all.
