Pulling D15B7 engine out of 93 DX hatch with AC
Hey all,
I tried to search but the server is down....again. Anyway, I have pulled most of the parts needed to pull the engine out. I have a few questions regarding the final steps I am left with.
Question 1: How do I get the "mount" out near the ac compressor? There is a mount that connects to the ac compressor bracket on the engine.
Question 2: Do I need to pop the ball joint to get the axles out? http://www.we-todd-did-racing....x.jpg
The things that I need to do is take off the axle nuts, remove the axles, and remove the rear engine mount. That should be it. If there are any removal tips you can offer, please post.

To remove the axle, get the LOWER ball joint loose, not the one that you have pictured in the link.
To remove the A/C mount bracket, you first remove the A/C compressor. Then the 19mm nut (in the wheel housing) then the 14mm bolts that go to the block.
Do the same on the 19mm on the pass side for the trans mount, and then 3 17mm bolts.
Remove the rear mount bracket from the rear mount on xmember (1. 17mm bolt).
The remove the drivers/pass side mounts and you are done.
Of course removing all other lines for coolant, wiring, etc.

Ok, I got a lot of work done last night. The final things I have to do is pull the rear mount and the axles. Any tips on hos to take the rear engine mount out? I was thinking about pulling the axles first. Good idea?
Also, would there be any problem pulling the engine with the header downpipe still attached? I don't think there will be but just thought I would ask.
Oh, thanks for the tip on getting the mount out near the ac compressor. It was A LOT easier than what I thought.
