i've got a 99ek its got a 98 b18c1 in it i bought this motor of a friend who had it in an eg he converted it over to obd1 an when i put it in my ek i converted it back to obd2 but i'm having some problems
my friend had an obd1 alt on it which is no good for obd2 he didn't have ac or ps an i want both
I took the obd2 alt off of my stock single cam my friend works for a shop an said it would work fine if I got the right brackets but i've ran into some problems with the info he has giving me so i ask u guys what u think
can i use the obd2 alt off my single cam if so what brackets do i need? my friend said buy a 99 si upper alt bracket he gave me a gsr ps pump an I bought the 99 upper an lower ps brackets but the gsr ps pump doesn't match up with the ps line on my ek if i bought a ps line off of a 99 si would it fit my pump? than I bought an ac bracket off tokyo spd pros an I got the ac thing figured out but any body out there that knows what I need to do let me know thank you

you cant use the single cam alternator. does your car have power steering right now. if it doesnt, you need the power steering rack too to make it work

you gotta get the b series alternator. as for the power steering, im pretty sure the rack and pinion is the same for the 99-00 si, and all other models, so the differance is the pump and lines. i wouldnt even worry about them though, just dont need p/s in a civic.

you need an obd2 b series alternator
you need a power steering pump from a 99-00 em1 si and power steering lines from ANY 96-00 civic
The reason for the pump, is because the integra and obd1 civic p/s hardline does not fit the 96+ chassis.
The pump for the em1 has the same large fitting as the 96-00 d-series, where the pumps for the integra and 92-95 civic have much smaller fittings. These lines are not cross-compatible.
You can NOT use an integra pump on an ek without an integra/obd1 civic power steering line that has been majorly rebent or modified (and good luck rebending it without kinking the line...) You are a bajillion times better off selling that integra pump or trading it for a 99-00 em1 pump
I found this out the hard way, because of all sorts of different information and people claiming to know what they were talking about. I, however, am 100% sure....
