Pros & cons to switching to obd1
right now im running a gutted cat with a burned out post-cat 02 sensor. im thinking to converting to obd1 but am hesitant. it would be cheaper then buying a cat and a new 02. but what are the downsides? im in MINNESOTA so we dont have smog checks. tell me if im wrong, but all i need is a obd2b to obd1 jumper harness and p30 ecu? plug and play right?

Re: Pros & cons to switching to obd1
Im guessing you have a 99-00 si? So yes all you need is obd2b -> obd1 conversion harness and a p30 or any obd1 ecu chipped to match your engine.
Pros- tunable, and in your case gets rid of the CEL for o2 sensor.
-If your knock sensor goes bad you can get it chipped to get rid of that CEL
Cons- I couldn't tell you any since you dont have emissions.
