proportioning valve question for rear disc conversion
i went to the junkyard and pulled a proportioning vlave off of a 98' gsr. my understanding is that the # 4040 was stampped on it, but its not on this. whats the deal? i am doing rear disc conversion on my eg and i thought all 94+gsr's and 99-01 si had the prop. valve i needed. is this still the right one? somebody help!!!

If you got it off a teg it has to be the right one. This is the 2nd person lately that said they can't find 4040 on it. I wonder if they quit stamping them at a certain point.

the one you have is probably off an abs model which means you cant really use it. as for the 4040 conversion you can also use the 3030 just make sure to bleed the brakes.
ived done the gsr front and rear disc conversion on 3 different cars and we used 3030 on all of them...bleeding is the key.

i have an ek hatch and recently bought a 97 ls im pulling the front and rear brakes and putting them on my car somone told me that i dont need to change my prop. valve because i have the same one on my hatch as in the si. is that correct? so that would mean all i have to do is from under the fenderwell bolt up the lines and the emergency brake cables and bleed the lines?

For the longist time I couldnt find where it was stamped on
them. Its supper small, and is usually covered by dirt and grease.
Look on the seam where it looks like they bolted the two pieces
together. It should be on one of the flat sides on that seam.
If its not, then I dont know what to tell you.
