Default Prolly a silly question but..

I just got back from my deployment not too long ago, and haven't gotten around to cleaning out the bay from all the salt from winter.
It's not all that dirty, just salty, so I was just gonna spray it down, is there anything I need to cover on a STOCK engine bay? Or can I just pop the hood and spray away?

Distributor, Fuse panels, and battery terminals.

avoid anything electrical, and make sure to drive it around for 20 mins or so, after cleaning it.

No! Keep it off (make sure the engine is COLD when spraying), once you dry as much as you can by hand then turn it on and drive around a bit.

Yes, dead cold! Other wise, extreme hot expanded metal (engine block) and cold tap water, crack...

Don't risk it, wait until cool. I would recommend a warm engine when you apply the cleaner, then wait until it cools down to hose off, I like Gunk engine detailer, but it is freaking toxic, use simple green, good stuff.
