Another electrical problem... twice this week had to get a jump start
I own a 97 Honda civic LX with a Ls vtech motor. Car has a new battery but twice this week had to get a jump start. Not sure what it can be but lately on a cold start it does sound pretty drained and will take a couple tries to stay on without me having to accelerate lightly to keep on. Can it be my alternator ?

@OP your battery is most likely dead. You also could have a short in your electrical system that is draining your battery constantly. get your battery tested at autozone. While you are in there I would reccommend, as usual, you remove all your grounds, especially the negative battery cable, and sand down all wires and chassis contact points, it will greatly improve your electrical system.

Lol that's the same phone I got under my hood. All my grounds? I know the guy I got the car from had speakers in his trunk and was thinking that cable could be another reason possibly? It's connected straight to the battery but have no electrical exp and don't wanna jack anything up

You could simply disconnect that cable, charge up the battery with a deep cycle charger (<2amps) overnight, then see if the battery ever dies again. if it does, you would be wise to reconnect the speakers to the battery, but wire in a switch (very easy, switches can be had at Menards for like 4 bucks, i would know, i work there), and you can then shut the speaker "off", if you will, when you turn off the car. That way there's no battery drain. It's also very possible that the speakers are in no way affecting your car's electrical system, and its just a failed battery.
