Problems with the gas pickup?
 

Ok I bought a 92 civic cx that had a d15b7 swapped in it. But what i'm having issues with is something with the gas tank.

The car drives fine till it reaches half a tank, (about 200 miles) then it acts like it just runs out of gas. I'm not too familiar with how the sending unit and all that works, I would assume it's a problem with that. So what should i check first?

does the car ride around forever on full when you fill it up?

it could be a bad sending unit or a tweaked one from a past fuel pump install... look in the tank and see how much gas u have... if its out of gas, bend the shit so it shows being out of gas.

Alright I'll check it out. I wouldn't think it would be out of gas, i've only gone maybe 200miles when it does that.

So I took the pump out and there was gas in the tank. Also, is there suppose to be any hose or anything on the bottom of the pump? I took some pics of it. I was having a hard time getting the float out so i'm not sure what to look for. How do you take it off anyway? It looks like you have spin it but there is a little tab in the way.
