Default Problems with a friends b16 ?

He was driving down the road when the car died in a way kind of like the car stalls on you. The car wouldnt start back up so... we get it towed then we check for spark.. nothing. So we automaticly think its the distributor cause thats what happened to me.... so we change it and the car starts right up but after 2-3 mins of warming up the car dies out. So we check for spark nothing... then we change the rotor, cap, spark plugs and wires. Still nothing... another friend suggests that we spray starter fluid in the manifold and if it starts then its the fuel pump... so it started.... but then shut off after a minute or so.... So he buys a new one and changes the pump and filter... still nothing, now he has a check engine light? but we cant get any flashes from the dash when we try to flash the code? what could it be thats giving us problems.....? any info is appreciated thanks.....

if it is a 92-95civic the main relay is under the dash by tge drivers kick panel, you can get a new one or try a friends or have your old one re soldered at radio shack
