Default problems doing first to second shifts on hard runs :(

have a '94 civic with a built for boost sohc zc non v-tec sitting on 10 lbs. Problem is when ever I launch, I can't get it into 2nd without letting the rpms drop considerably, usually when I fall out of the boost revs. Have energy suspension motor mount inserts and prothane's shift bushing kit as well as a short shifter. The tranny is in tip top shape and never had a problem with it in the last turbo setup and same with the short shifter. Thinking is might either lie in the motor mount inserts or the shift linkage bushing kit. All other gears shift flawlessly, just 1st to 2nd is kickin my ****, and it's only when I'm trying to do a run, econo dirving it shifts perfectly. It's like it'll hit a wall and even forcing it will just grind but still won't go in. Open to sugestions. Tranny fluid is half lucas half 10w30.

I know this is an old thread but I was google searching honda-tech (Cause the new search sucks!) and found this thread. I had the exact same problems and it was clutch related. I swaped clutchs because my 6 puck was toast and the problem was gone.

If the syncro was bad it would grind. I never had grinding problems, only issues shifting at high rpms. 1/2 sleeve sets are $325! So replacing them sucks. My 1/2 showed some wear but not enough to warrent the money to replace them. Hell you can get a used GSR tranny for $500

I would replace the lower trans mounts or fill them with window weld to stiffen them up. I had problems like this auto xing and know several others that have had the same issues with their civics. Most atribute it to the motor and trans shifting under hard launchs and that binds up the shifter rod enough to not let you shift into gear.
