I have a 94' ex sedan and the rear doors will not open from the inside or outside. They are stuck! Does anyone know what would cause this and how to get them opened? The car has been like this ever since I bought it but I was never to concerned about it until now because I will be getting the car painted soon. If i cant open the doors, then i cant get the door jams painted! Any responses/feedback would be greatly appreciated!

the locks go up and down fine

i couldnt really see HOW to get the pannels off with the door being shut and i dont want to mess anything up. Should i just pry it off from around the window seal?

I'm thinking no one has opened those rear doors in a VERY long time and it's sealed itself to the jamb. Make sure it's unlocked, then just PUSH FROM THE INSIDE (don't yank from the outside only tp break the handle). Should pop open.

This happens to me sometimes if the rear doors aren't opened within a month.

well no luck with that..... i just pounded the crap out of that door and pushed as hard as i could. no success :'(

take out the pocket and the handle cover, and rest holding it on are clips i believe

Remove your rear seat. This will give you more room to remove the door panels. The panels only have two screws (one in the armrest pocket and one in the inner door handle) then they pop off around the bottom and sides (where they are held on by 8 clips) and lift upward (off at the top). <FONT COLOR="red">Now the rear doors are not opening because the latch is locked onto the striker.</FONT>You need to make sure that everything fom the lock **** to the latch is properly connenected. Check that the latch connectors are connected. Verify that the inner handle rod is connected. That should do it. Easy.

the guy i bought it from said it wasnt, but i guess you cant trust everyone. anyone got a carfax account they wanna use and hook me up?

I believe Dimi is correct on this one as i have the same exact problem, the longer you go without opening them the harder it is to get them open the next time around. The weather seal has probably dried up and then it has sat in the sun or something and caused itself to get stuck in the door jams. As soon as you get it loose, keep trying what Dimi said it will eventually work, put some silicone around the weather stripping and that should be good for a couple months and then apply more after that.

I had the exact same problem, had to have someone hold the handle open while I pushed with both feet! After lubing them I still open them at least once a month.
