Default Problem with new brake system

Well I installed the 11" OEM fastbrakes kit with gsr calipers that I purchased off of someone from HT.... well honestly it performs well.. but on the driver side caliper about 20-30min of driving I get this Squeal or squeak sound coming from my brakes for every rotation but not all the time ... now when I actually press the brakes the sound goes away.. but when I get off of them again the sound returns..

I recently had the rotors machined which helped but it has not stopped completely .. and the pads are Axis Metal Master pads .. the Fastbrakes kit I bought used.. and it seems that either the piston isn't backing out all the way on the caliper or possible the pad is moving for some reason... I will be attempting to remedy this problem on mon/tues.. any insight will be appreciated

You could try some disc quiet on the pads if you haven't already. It could also just be the pads. My Axxis Ultimates make a little bit of noise.

I tried the brake quiet already.. and it's possible it might be the axis pads.. but I run ultimates in the rear and get no sound at all but thanks for the response

metal against metal..... what do you expect??? get organic if you dont want sound, or if you want performance stay with the metal ones..

well the sound only comes when the brake is not enaged.. meaning the piston should not bepushing the pad closer to the rotor.. but when I engage the brake.. the sound stops completely and I understand brakes get squeaky as you get more aggressive compounds but metal masters are far from aggresive compared to some compeition pads

it's all good thanks though for the response.. I might end up rebuilding or getting a new remanufactured caliper to see if that's the problem

Didn't you mention that having the rotor trued helped?
Try new rotors.
Is this why the other guy sold them?

true I might have to.. but I have e-mailed brian @fastbrakes like 3 times regarding which rotor they use in the 11"OEM kit.. I know there VW corroda(forgot how to spell just now) 11" rotors but I don't from which year and the autozoneguys will not help me out by opening 4 different boxes well tomorrow I'll be taking it all out and will examine everything again

Brakes will usually squeak indicating a replacement when the brakes aren't being used and goes away when they're being used. So the noise while not breaking isn't soemthing unusual.

I wouldn't worry about it if you have pad left and don't have any weird braking characteristics.

try checking the dust sheild. i was getting a similar sound at a similar time, and it turned out to be the dust sheild rubbing on the rotor. quite a relief after the thought of redoing the brakes.
