Problem with my EG6
Hi hopefully some of you guys will have experienced this problem and be able to tell me whats going on.
I have an eg and basically i have started to get a knock knock knock, from the front end of the car. It makes this noise in all gears and in neutral. There is oil leaking from the right hand side driveshaft hub (where it joins to gearbox).
Changing gears is no problem although it is loosing oil im am sure that there is nothing wrong with the gearbox (i hope!) i have bought some new seals for the driveshafts which are awaiting fitment.
I am beggining to think that the problem could be the cv joint?? as it makes this noise on full lock also, not just in a striaght line. If it is the cv joint, is it a big job and are the parts expensive to replace (with OEM) parts.
If it is not the cv joint could it be that the seals in the driveshaft are worn out and causing the hub to move about while driving.
My car is lowered 50mm if that helps.
Hope you can help
Andy.

You should search the archived files on this site and learn how yourself. It really easier than you would think. If you did it yourself, it would be very cheap. Also, the tools you need (axle nut socket and ball joint seperator) are loaner tools at autozone, so they wouldn't cost you anything to use.
