Default Problem with my d16z6

Well i swapped the motor in my Eg .. everything was fine Idle was good .. no funny noises.. i did all my fluid, oil, spark plugs ,etc. and i have about 1 gallon of gas >< well its been 3 days since the the swap was done .. but for some reasson when i started the car earlier it sounded like it wanted to die out .. when i step on the gas it kinda lags like a chokey feeling and then revs up .. can someone tell me whats going . thanks

have you timed it? if your timing is off a bit you may have problems

Hmm make sure you spark plug wires are all the way in. Its happened to me a bunch of times, and it was just because one of my spark plug wires was loose.

timing was done at my uncles shop .. i was driving the car after i swapped it .. it was fine for the first couple of days then all of the sudden this happen .. spark plugs checked.. good dizzy iono gotta find out

fuel filter. With that gallon of gas in there you were sucking from the bottom of the tank. Probably knocked some deposists loose and they ended up in your filter.
Just a guess, but it's worth checking.

so does that really affect the motor performance? would it mess up my motor? i dont want to start it up right now but if it is the gas then ill gas it up and see if it still does it thanks

sounds like your timing may have jumped a tooth.

this happend to me on a d15 and my dissy was slightly out of place - i just loosend the nuts and moved it slightly one way or the other in increments until it got better.

but im not a mechanic so if my advice sucks i apologise!

do u have good dizzy. it sounds like the same problem i had with my z6, i changed the dizzy and rotor. its running perfect now

you must not realize how small amount of fuel is needed for a 1.6l engine to idle.

ok .. well i wont no anything about it until 6 - 7 tonight because we are gon try some stuff out first gonna check the fuel pump and everything first but im pretty shure its not my timing everything was checked out .. tdc but when i find out ill let everyone know what it might be thanks alot guys

I do. He said his was choking up when he stepped on the gas though.

he said it wanted to die out and then choke when giving gas, so yeah, it could be fuel related, but the fuel filter would have to be almost completely clogged shut to cause an issue like that at idle.

i say timing belt jumped, but i know nothing.

Okay i figured it out .. well me and my cousin . it was nothing with the timing belt at all .. i got fuel injector cleaner, gas'd my car up and changed the o2 censor and everything was back to normal .... and come to find out my vtec wasnt hooked up correctly .. it was ghetto rigged .. so my cousin went ahead and put that back together .. but thanks for everyones say in .. now Lock IT UP! thanks
