problem in my 94 coupe
So this just started a few days ago.... at random times, my car has a squeeking sound near the front drivers side tire im assuming. The sound increases with speed... at first it sounds like air coming out, like a "pssshhhhtt..." kinda sound. But its been about a week, and the tire is fine. At a dead stop it doesnt do it, and like I said, will start and stop at totally random times...sometimes will last a minute, sometimes 5 minutes...when I push on the brakes it stops, this is the weird part...anyone have any clues?

Re: (JDM EJ1 95)
yea kind of, the only thing is....its not constant, it starts sometimes and ends at random times...for instance, driving home from work today it happened for 2 minutes or so...but yesterday driving 160 miles, it didnt happen at all. The day before that, it did happen .. Im confused.

I had a squeak come out the front driver side of my 94 civic ex, thought was the the tire or something, but i have new brake pads and disks so I decided to look at the belts and my power steering belt is cracked up to hell, replaced and no more squeeks

Brake pads is my bet. Same thing happened to mine. Put new brake pads on, and was later told I should've used some kind of brake pad grease or something. It's the brake pads lightly touching the rotor.

any clue why it only does it at random times then? and goes away? I would think if it was pads, that it would be constant....am I wrong?

*shrugs*
I'd assume it's because they aren't bolted into one specific place. They've just got a thin metal bracket holding them down, so I'd think they have a little free play. If you brake hard while going at a decent speed does it stop for a while?

Re: problem in my 94 coupe (ShakesTheKlown)
I have the same car with the same sound. I refuse to use the word problem because it's not doing any harm. Shakes has a good theory. My theory would be expansion and contraction from the temperature. But my brakes work fine. I autox on Sundays and haven't had a braking issue yet.
