Problem with Honda N1 pulley, pulley is smaller, belt is too big?
Hi all,
So I went to install my nifty Honda N1 crank pulley on my SiR-II B16A (the one with only one belt track and no rubber damper) and it turns out that after I installed it, my alternator won't tension up...
Apparenty the pulley is a bit smaller than the stock one and now the belt is too long.
My question is, which belt should I get to replace it so my alternator will tension the belt correctly? Currently, if I adjust the alternator all the way to the back of it's travel, the belt is still too loose to drive the alternator. Surely someone else must have encountered this. Where is the correct belt?
Thanks,
zeleftikam (zelifcam)

take your current belt. go to you local autozone, pepboys ext. and say you need a belt so many steps shorter then the belt you have,or pick up a few diffrent length belts and just use the one that best fits and return the others.....

They don't go for that. The people at the parts stores won't do a thing for me until I tell them the year/make/model of the car I am wanting parts for. I need this information on the belt that is correct.

Tell them to do their job and look for the right belt size.
People do that kind of stuff all the time. If they wont do it ask to speak to the manager and complain.

Re: (pdiggitydogg)
search for ctr pulley in the Type R forum. There is a recent thread with info on a oem belt you can use, and i tossed in the part numbers for the autozone one just the other day.
