problem getting crank pulley off!!
 
I have a 93 honda civic hatchy with the 1.5 non vetch. It jumped timing the other day and i went out to buy the new parts. I got everything ready all i need to do is take off the crank pulley and it wont move at all! i used a impacked gun at 100psi and it wont move and ideas on what else to use? braker bar with long pole wont work either tryed trust me!Thanks

Lock the flywheel with a large flathead screwdriver and use that breaker bar again. It can be tricky getting the screwdriver to stay in place, but its the best way in my opinion.

I was gonna say setaline torch is your frined, i just had to heat up the pulley bolt on my H22 last night worked like a charm https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

you probobly need to heat up the bolt with a torch for a bit. My b18a engine has the same thing and I have to heat up the bolt to loosen it a bit

...or you could buy the proper tool from Harbor Frieght or Honda or Moroso or any of the other myriad companies that sell them.

Also, 100psi isn't a whole lot when dealing with these crank pulley bolts, and the torque rating of the gun is much more important.

yeah cause spec is 180 ft lbs

Only one problem, and that is that in PA, a lot of Honda dealers do not stock special order parts. And, if in a jam, the half-ass way is actually a really efficient way, but in the long run...yes...buy the tool, its the smart idea if you plan on removing and reinstalling the crank pulley.
