Problem with fuel system?
I've got a '94 Civic Si, nearly stock (I/H/E, 16"s), timing set to factory standards (failed emissions, so the shop retarded the timing back to factory spec). I think something is wrong with the delivery of fuel to my engine. Under normal driving conditions (about 50-50 highway/city), I get about 180-200 miles out of half a tank, according to my guage. In theory, I should get between 360 and 400 miles out of a full tank, no? I can't even make it to 300 miles on a full tank. Once it reaches about the half-way mark, my mileage gets shitty. Last time I filled up (about 8.5 gallons), I had 260 miles on my trip odo.
Can someone tell me what could be wrong? If i'm forgetting any information that would help come to a conclusion, just let me know.

civic fuel gauges arent real accurate as far as how fast they move. they stay on full for quite a while and drop kinda slow to 1/2 tank, but from there on down they move a bit faster.

So you're staying there's really nothing to worry about? I still get between 30-33mpg with mixed driving, but the whole sudden drop was throwing me off. I know the gauge in my old Accord lied to me. It'd say I was very very close to E but I still had 3 or 4 gallons to go.
