same with mine.......it is very hard to fix....but there is a better remedy...
when you put down the window.....go about 5inches at a time...then pause...you can see it, it will slowly go back onto track....then 5 more inch...
i put it down 5 inch...push the window down with my hand....then go 5 inch more...then push down...then 5 inch more...push down again

Lol almost every honda has this problem. My rubber running channel for the window glass was so dry the window was pulling the rubber with it. I put it back together and used some silicone spray on the rubber and it works fine now.

My window in my 96 hatch jumped off track Thursday, of course it was raining at the time. My front sash that holds the window rubber was bent and the regulator is really worn out. Im going to order a new one from Honda next week. The manual regulator and front sash arent hard at all to replace, not sure about a power widow.

Go to your local dealership and buy a new window regulator, all of the 96-00 civics have this problem. Due to this the regulators are pretty cheap- around $55. I believe there are 6 ten mm bolts to remove the reg, and once it is out there is 3-T25? torx head srews that should come with the new reg to remove. Reinstall same as removal and when you are done use a silicone spray to lubricate the run channel(rubber seal the window rides to go up or down) periodically lube this appox. every 15k to keep the regulator rivets from expanding and causing the same issue. Or let your dealer do it for Approx 2 hours labor I.E. $160 plus the reg.
