Default problem with d16z6 stalling

I did a swap from a d15 on a 94 civic hatchback dx i put in a d16z6 motor in..i had to buy a junkyard distributor..and at the time i didn't have enough money for the ecu so i ran it on a p06..every once in a while it did a stalling when vtec should start at about 4300 rpm and i thought nothing of it cause i was thinking it's just that the vtec is not hooked up.. i just put in today my p28 and d16z6 engine harness..bought a brand new oil pressure switch and ran the cable from A4 to vtec solenoid and D6 to oil pressure switch .....as far as i am aware i followed the Honda instructions book step by step on how to hook up the ecu anyway i checked my codes and it gave me code 4,8,9 which would be part of the distributor and code...21 & 24?...i don't know if 24 even exists if anyone knows please let me know..but 21 is the vtec solenoid ..i reset them and 4,8,9 went away but stalling is still happening the same as before..not to mention my idle went to ****...and not only does it stall when vtec is supposed to kick in..but also at about i'm guessing 1100-1500 rpm i don't have a tach but i have a pretty good feel for it ..if anyone has any idea of what the problem is...or have suggestions or can confirm that the distro and or vtec solenoid are bad please let me know thx!

yeah it's the right one i had to pay 150 at a junkyard to get this pos d16z6 distro and it gave me an error...it's weird my car is throwing all sorts of codes...i first got 4,6,8,9,21,24..then i reset it and tried it again and it gave me 10,21,24..i reset it again and it gave me 10 ad 24....but there is no such thing as a 24 code...what's that all about..but there's still the problem of the stalling and i'm wondering some people tell me it's the distro but i also know that the vtec solenoid is bad so could this be causing the stalling?...i felt like grabbing a jackhammer and slamming my vehicle !!!!!!!!

did u ground out the other wire comming from the oil press swicth???

one needs to go to D6, and the other just needs to be grounded...

also did u get the rigth pin at the ECU?? u might have to add a pin or 2 to the actual plugs at the ecu, i doubt it has a4 and d6, u migth have to get em from another plug...

if all this is ok, i think the problem lies with the distro

make the top hole bigger (bolt hole) on ur old d15 distro so u can make it fit on the z6, run the car off of that, if it works fine the distro u got is jacked up..

i bought a z6 engine harness so it's o.p.s is grounded out and i pinned A4 and D6 and checked double checked and triple checked so it couldn't be that...could the solenoid make that stalling?...it could be the distro...but that's not on me..a guy hooked me up with that 1 so i think it's time i go slap him some

you could take the internals out of the 1.5 distro and put it in the d16z6 distro. Did that for a mini me swap. Works like a charm.

We had a bad d16z6 distributor and put the 1.5 internals in the d16z6 case so it would bolt up.
