Problem with Clutch pedal / getting into gear
98 coupe ex. no mods.
I had a low clutch pedal, found that the clutch master cylinder was leaking on the cabin side of the firewall. I then replaced the clutch master cylinder (bench bled) and the slave cylinder. Bled the hell out of the clutch hydraulic system and made sure all air was out Still have a very low pedal. When bleeding the system and holding the pedal I couldn't feel the pedal drop at all when the bleeder opened. Also the pedal doesn't return to the normal position when I take my foot off of it after holding it down when bleeding. It just sits on the floor.
Yesterday I tried bleeding the system again and felt a little pressure and was able to shift into gears (forcing into gears) without moving, just with the clutch engaged. But this morning there was no pressure at all and wasn't able to shift into any gears with vehicle running.
But with key off I can shift into gears no problem with or with out the clutch pedal.
I am leaning towards the new master cylinder being defective but am not certain. I was also looking into the arm that pushes the slave cylinder but don't have a tester car to compare to.
Does any body have any suggestion or experienced the same thing?
Any help would be much appreciated!!
