I have a civic with 95 ls motor. About twice a week my cars check engine light will come on. In the directions given at this site it says that I first have to shut the motor down and do the wire thing. THe problem is, once I turn my car off, the light goes away and might not come back for a few days? Does anyone know what I should do?

Edit: I just checked the code and it kept doing one long flash, pause, one long flash, pause etc. At least I think it was long, how short are the short ones? Have I done this correctly?
