Problem after changing input shaft bearing
I just replaced my input shaft bearing (d16z6 tranny). I also replaced the oil seal that rests underneath it. ( https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=596873 )
I put everything back together. It goes into every gear, and turning the mainshaft results in the diff spinning at the correct speed for each gear (and backwards for reverse). Only thing that's weird is when it's in neutral and you spin the main shaft, the diff still spins slowly, but if you firmly hold the diff and spin it, it will slip.
I think the problem is that the shift fork for 5th sits too low and engages the 5th gear synchro. I'm guessing that driving on it would just completely wear out the syncro while in neutral. This is my first tranny build so i really don't know.
Anyone deal with this before?

Re: Problem after changing input shaft bearing (Chil709)
the front wheels will spin in the air when the car is in neutral and the engine at idle at times.....the freewheeling gears still have friction against the shafts. If all your cearances were good, etc, it's normal
