Hi... I just bought a a civic with a b18c5 motor... And i was wondering what are some ways to help preventing it from getting stolen??... I park my car outside cause i dont have a garage and i'm scared its gona get stolen..
I currently have a viper alarm..
A club for the steering wheel..
and i use my brothers car to block it from it getting hot wired or towed away...

I also hear about pulling the ecu out or somthing... i'm not sure..
and i know what people say.. "If a theif wants somthing he'll get it" i tihnk its bullshit..
Is there anything else i can do?...

Hey, I know you're new so I'll let you in on a little secret.

Honda-Tech has a search function. When I typed in "anti theft" I got this:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=227292 .

Try reading that, and if you still have more specific questions, please post them and we can help you from there!

seriously tho.. im afraid sometimes of my car getting stolen w/ all the **** in NOVA lately.. but if a theif wants to get your car or into your car he can and will.. the best way to be safe is to layer the security system w/ backups and extras in my opnion.. a good start would be a good high end alarm system then get a backup battery and hid it well iin the car, also get multiple sirens inside and outside of the car, get some extra sensors like a prox sensor, shock sensor, and glass break.. a good thing also is a starter kill as well as kill switch for the fuel pump. another thing that ive seen done and i know dei makes is electronic hood locking pins. if they cant get the hood open they disconnect the first battery or cut any sirens. dont go showing off your car and racing everyone on the street either, people will fallow you home and watch you.. i know this cause its happened but luckily i was going to this kids house i dont talk to that much so they never found me agian.. good luck

My prelude was stolen right in plain view at a mall, very first parking spot, very lightly raining, 1 pm. People constantly walking by. I had no security on it but they still had the ***** to do it with people probably looking over. F22A1 prelude with high mileage so I didn't care much, i <3 my gs-r

Get a Wheel boot! That should keep it from going anywhere.

Hopefully they wouldn't think of trying anything after seeing how serious you are with one of those!

Have different security layers. Hopefully if a crook gets stumped at one of these layers, he will move on.

Like someone else said, don't go and show everyone your motor. If you race someone and pull them, just drive away and be happy. Parking cars in front of your will always help with it not being towed away. I park my hatch in front of my ITR.

If your worried about the car getting stolen, as opposed to having the car broken into, the I have athe product for you. Sears makes a battery for cars that looks like a normal battery, but this battery comes with a remote. Once activated it prevents the car from being started. If someone tries to start your car the battery will act like a dead battery cranking over slowly, after 4 atempts the battery will disconnect it,s self, leaving the vehicle dead. Easy to install, just a matter of replacing your old battery

I heard one guy say he wired he rear lights to a switch
so at nite he turned them off and as a last precaution if they took off, then when they were driving they wouldnt know the rear lights were out, and cops pull you over for that

... Or someone will rear-end the car...

How about losening all 16 (20 for those with 5 lug conversions) lug nuts every evening? Or opening up brake bleeder screws? It's been said many times before - if someone wants a car bad enough, they'll get it.
