wassup to all the folks that have tuned into this channel I just got my hands on an extra z6 head so i can play around with. The guy I bought it from gave me the results of his pressure test before he sold me the head. Here is his exact qoute

"I got 136, 134, 136, 138 going from pass side of car to drivers side."

Can someone give me the factory specs for this test? I just want to find out if I got a bad head or if its still in good condition. Help me out fellas

So he gave you the test results of a head that was pressure tested on another block? Even if you know the factory specs, your not going to be able to compare what he gave you to those for your situation. Its going to be another block, which would have a different compression lost in the piston rings themselves. ALl in all the results he gave you sound good, all within a few percent of each other. But that still does not really tell you the quality of the head, just his overall combo at the time he tested.

I'm not sure about that... I tought you can use a flow-bench to check the head while its off the block? I was thinkin in that sence, not bottom end specs.

If all you bought was a head, those number are pointless....


Compression on a good engine is between 160-180, but if you just got a head the numbers are not a help.....his compression was a little low, for your information.
