hey guys i need your advice, i got a act heavy duty pressure plate with a 6puck.the last time i checked the plate it had a lip on the outer surface,is this the sign that i need a a new plate.

If you plan on drivin the car everyday id think about buying a street disc instead of a puck. To answer your q/ I think itll be ok if its not too big of a lip and the rest of the surface is smooth. You might not have as much clamping force. I had the same problem and e-mailed act. they told me that using a 6 puck everyday will wear the pressure plate out at an accellerated rate and I should use a disc. To save you some time and money stick with the disc!!!!
