Premium Gas
Allright, Im allways hearing that premium gas just isnt right for some engines. For example my dad has a 01 chevy silverado and it runs like **** on premium. I know that the engine in that is totally the opposite than in my civic, but im wonderin what premium gas would do for me. By the way i have a mainly stock d16y7. Thanks for the help

Re: Premium Gas (TurboTagTeam)
octane is a measure of how hard fuel is to combust, the higher the number the harder the engine has to work to make power.
your civic nees 87 octane. nothing higher is needed without serious modifications. (forced induction, engine swap, etc). so save your money and use the cheap ****.

It would drain your wallet much faster, while doing absolutely nothing performance-wise.
D16Y7 only requires regular fuel (~87 octane) as per the owner's manual. Consider it a blessing - DOHC VTEC engines require at least 91.
