Prelude guy here. need help with turbo civic!!

Default Prelude guy here. need help with turbo civic!!

ok its a 95 i think and there is something mad wrong with it. ive only driving around it never in. well when it take off at WOT black smoke comes out the tail. it sputters when he floors it but only sometimes. its a greddy bolt on kit. and well its pretty damn slow. i walked it by maby 8 car leghts in about a 1/4 from a roll and i run a 14.4 is my best time with i-e other than that its a stock h22. could it be a torn pipe connecter thingy? thats what my friends MR-2 did ran rich and sputtered. just wondering if i could get some insite on what to look for. his kid doesnt know **** about cars and bought it with all this **** on it so hes not much help but he keeps losing to all these other cars and i cant stand a honda running this bad. o and he says its vtec bt vtec dont work or something.

Have you tried asking in the Forced Induction forum yet? Maybe they can help your friend.

Does he have a boost guage? Make sure that is reading correctly, as well as the blow off valve dumping correctly. Definitely sounds like he's running rich as well. Better than running lean, but still should get it tuned.
