Quarter Mile Predictions?
Whats up everyone? Heres the deal, I have a 2000 Civic Ex and I ran a best of 16.241 @ 83.48mph with my d16y8, an AEM Cold Air Intake and crap bald tires, thats it, otherwise stock all the way down to the muffler. I live in Phoenix, Az and the temperature that night was high 80's or 90 something. Now I have a 96-98 jdm b16 in it with an ACT Street flywheel and ACT clutch, a ghetto fab intake using my filter from the AEM intake, some good shape Falkens, and when I go to the track I'll probably take my muffler off(stock exhaust) . The car will be in the same condition weight wise, with the seats out or whatever, and I'll be on the same track, it'll just be cooler this time, like 60 degrees. How fast do you guys think I can get the ole girl down the track this time?

High 14's IMHO if you can get a 2.1-2.2 60ft...
What was your 60ft last time? Run your tires are 18 psi and feather the clutch from like 4 or 5 grand

Oh yeah, I also have a Fluidyne radiator now, I dont think it will matter though, and when I go to the track I'll use around half 101 octane and half 91 octane in the tank. And always Mobil 1 oil. I think thats it.

I know I'll bring it down a bit, I could feel my d16y8 wheeze out of contention pretty quickly, and my b16 just keeps screaming, the flywheel should help a little too, its weight wasnt a huge difference from stock, but definitly a difference.

That 101 octane won't do ****.

Okay, that has nothing to do with your launching capabilities.

Re: Predictions? (BauleyCivic)
I know the 101 wont matter, I really do, but I'm one of those idiots that just has to use it so I cant complain about the gas if I suck. And the tires are also definitly better which should help with launch, and I definitly understand the start better now, with my d16 I would just rev to 6 or 7 grand and drop it. Experience helps. Plus the heat may have affected traction a little... but I probably just sucked.

you said that your tires were fairly bald when you ran at the track the last time right??!!.......and if you were launching at 6 or 7 grand then no wonder your 60ft is so bad....your spinning too much. you've got to rev that **** to about 4-4500 and let it out witout your clutch snappin' and setting your tires loose!....
good luck with your new setup!
