power window problems?

power window problems?
ok I have a 1996 civic sedan and my pass. side window will only go down but not up I took the motor out plugged it in outside of the door pulled it up and pushed the button down it went down tried to put it back up and nothing so i bought a new motor and it does the same .Has this happened to anyone else?if so howd you fix it ?any suggestions would be great ?
