Power window problem 95 civic
Well, last year around this time I was fixing something with my interior door panels, and unclipped the passenger side window switch from the harness. I got finished and put everything back together and everything seemed fine until I tried to put the window down. The window would not work through either driver or passenger switch. I thought maybe the regulator went or something inside, but I took everything apart and made sure it worked by giving it power from a different source
I have been able to get the window up and down, but only by other means of power ( not using any of the switches). I have been hooking up 2 pieces of stereo wire to the wire harness that is directly connected to the window regulator or motor and by touching the wires to my battery I can make the window go up or down.. ghetto, I know.
Now I am starting to think that maybe something just shorted out the switch and that is what is giving me the problems.
Would that cause the drivers side switch not to work in controlling the pass. side window though? is there anything else I should be lookin for or, replacing besides the switch?
Thanks for the help

Cliff notes- took out door panels, took off passenger side window switch, window will not go up or down from either switch (passenger or drivers side) Regulator and motor are fine. Question- If the passenger side switch is not working would that cause the drivers side not to work for the pass. window?

checked the fuse it was fine, and yes I did plug it back in. Everything looks fine, just doesn't work fine. The drivers side window works like a charm though, its only the passenger side that does not.

I believe the passenger side switch relays through the driver side. So, I would test all the connections and wires that are used to move the passenger side window. It has to be in the driver side switch. Just test all the wires.

Re: Power window problem 95 civic (Ej1_coupe)
well, the other day i was taking my door panels off as well and i forgot to hook up the switch in the passenger door panel, and when i tried the passenger side, it didnt work...i tried to use the drivers switch for the pass. window and it still didnt go down.....i then checked the plug, plugged it back in and it worked for the driver and passenger..so the switch for the drivers and passengers are all linked together.....so if the passengers switch isn't working, then it wont roll down with either switch......so i'd try getting a new switch and tring that......it should be that ......if you can "rig it to turn the motor" with some wires...... I'd try a switch!!!
