Yep, and the difference in power is negligible at best.

but if u do cut the belt i would just go ahead and take it all the way off. looks alot better and frees up alot of wasted but needed space for that spinning thing that whistles lol

Remove the PS and swap in a manual rack. That's the way to do it.

is it a hassle to drive without P/S?

I'm asking because I'm about to purchase a 99 EK w/o P/S and w/o A/C.
but the A/C is intact, it just has to be charged.
or something like that, thats what the seller told me.

not driving without p/s is easy. its only hard at a dead stop. my 5'4" 105lb girlfriend drives my 97 cx with 17's on it no problem. you just have to get used to getting the car moving a little before you turn the wheel. and yea, imo dont just cut the belt. do it right. used p/s pumps are worth money

I took my belt off 3 years ago, and my civic Hatch 1.5L drives 365 days a year in the Canadian Praries, I would say that my only complaint with not having the power steering is when you are needing to manuver very quickly around things its not so easy.

Removing your power steering belt can be a Good Idea for Drag races cars that go in a strait line, and not a good idea for road race/time trial courses where your turning lots for one YOU will get worn out twice as fast.

So which are you? Drag Racer or you like chucking into the corners?

yea, I've been told that too. Its not like your gaining too much power by cutting the belt though. It won't really make a difference when your driveing but at a dead stop it's a little harder to turn the wheel. If your gonna do it, in my oppinnion do the job right. Those Power steering parts are worth money.
