You can keep the one yo uhave, but it won't last as long as it should.

It won't be unreliable.. but it won't last as long as if you had fl;uid flowing through it. Why not do it right and swap the rack, and get one made for non P/S.

i did this also and it busted one of the boots (big mess). it was also hard to turn at slow speeds until all of the fluid decided to take a hike. now it turns fine. but i am going to swap it out just so i dont have to worry about it. if you keep yours get most of the fluid out but leave some just for lubrication.

THE BOOT WHERE THE RACK AND THE TIE ROD MEET THE ONLY BOOTS ON THE RACK. THE FLUID DIDNT HAVE ANY WHERE TO GO SO IT MADE IS OWN DRAIN HOLE IN THE DRIVERS SIDE TIE ROD RUBBER BOOT.
