Default Power steering question

Hey im trying to shave some pounds off my 96 ex coupe...is it worth removing the power steering ...how much lbs will i loose and is it a bitch to turn the wheel and i herd it gives you a couple hp???? please answer my questions thnak you ....oh one more how do i go about removing it...thanks guys

You unbolt it.

It weights about 20-30 lbs.

its not that bad...on a light car, write now my daily driver is my bosses 85 econoling 150 with no power steeering and thats annoying to drive at low speeds when trying to park and stuff like that. But thats a huge van not a small car; shouldn't be to bad for your car. when at normal driven speeds(20mph+) you should be fine

It was completely worth it for me, and I still feel it was one of the best modifications I ever made to my car. The complete system (DC2) weighs approx. 16 lbs. Removing the system (or the belt) frees up roughly 5 whp on a B-series, should be somewhat similar for a D-series.
