from power steering to manuel steering

from power steering to manuel steering
i just have a question. i have a 92 civic si and of course its has power steering and i want to put a manuel rack but people keep telling me that i have to change the subframe is that true or not? thanks..

nope...just take the pump off...drain the fluid...in the rack...and look up the kit online...google is your friend...theres a resovoir kit that lets your keep your P/S rack, but steers like manual...my friend has this on his EM1...works great, and keeps the rack better lubed...and...if he ever wants p/s again..it bolts back on...no prob

no, just pick up a manual steering rack, either from the kunk yard or a local parts shop. then swap them out (of coarse removing the rest of the power stuff).
IMO, i'm iffy about those kits, but i guess it doesn't hurt to try.

thanks. i think im gonna sick with the manuel rack, my power steering rack is leaking so in benifit ill save some weight and looks alot cleaner without power steering..
