You'd need a subframe/cross member/bulkhead, power steering rack, hoses, lines, pump, reservoir, etc.all from a similiar Civic model that had power steering. I'd say the closest thing would probably be a 2000 Civic DX hatchback. I might assume any 96-00 Civic EX set-up would work too, but assuming's not really my thing.

Regardless it's going to be one huge, mother-of-all pains in your *** to do, so if it were my car i'd not even bother. You're better off buying a 2000 Civic DX HB that already had it.

are you sure you want P/S..? most guys are trying to get rid of theirs.

there may be a few more items you need, but i know you'll need:
-the rack and possibly rack mount brackets
-the pump and pump bracket
-the reservoir... and bracket
-and hoses.

i would suggest looking for someone on the forum wanting to loop their P/S or replace with manual, and offer them some kind of trade.

wow, the whole crossmember?! are you sure the mount brackets are all that different? i guess i've only ever assumed they were the same. but, from a manufacturing standpoint, you'd think Honda would want to just have one crossmember design to worry about...

i do agree it'll be a pain. easier to trade cars.

I mean.. i dont want it.. but at the same time its just a bitch because turning the wheel is so hard at times.. and when i drive my friends car " 99 honda civic coupe " the steering feels so good compared to my hard turning. I mean if there was another way of making it alittle less hard to turn id do it.

do you have factory-offset wheels and decent tires on it?

over the past 10 years, i've found bigger arms help a ton. with the execption of my first car, 84 prelude, i've only driven manual rack cars. it really only gets easier.

you could use everything off of a 96 cx with ps. my hatch is a 96 cx and it came with PS and no AC. after 13 years the rack is starting to leak and i want to get rid of the ps anyway.... it's one less thing to break or leak by keeping it a manual rack n pinion.
