power problem D15B7
well basically, my car is loosing power throughout all the rpm, but especially 2500 - 4500. I got the car from a yard and the exhaust was broken, not a hole, actually separated into two halves, but the power was very good with the exhaust like that, (for engine size) I since got it repaired but it wasnt as powerful then, and now there is a hole after comin in the back section of the exhaust and the car is like a 1.0l in terms of power. is this becuase of the exhaust being in bad cond or is there another problem, it very sluggish going from 2000 - 5000 revs, and when i clutch it when its cold it almost cuts out, which also didnt happen before I got the hole, its like its runing out of juice, I was just about to order an exhaust but said id ask first!!
Any help???

How about fix the exhaust? Have you done a tuneup? If you know of deficiencies that might keep your car from performing as it should you should repair them. No need to post up in a forum if you should fix something that is broken.

Starting at square 1 with this one.
cels = Check Engine lights. Yellow light on dash looks like an engine.
Over on the passenger side behoind the carpet and by the ECU (engine computer) there is a 2 wire plug hanging down.
connect that plug with a paperclip and turn the key on.
The CEL light will flash short and long flashes. Like morse code.
Report back the short and long flashes and someone can look up your problem.
BTW How is your coolant level? compression test? overheating?
I had a d15b7 that lost all power on any kind of hill. Was a blown head gasket. They come stock with a cork type gasket, peice of ****.
get a multi-layer steel gasket if thats the problem, and be alot happier.
its possible you have a clogged catalytic converter, but then you said you have a hole in the exhaust, so... I would check the exhaust out thoroughly.
