Do you have an alarm or keyless remote?

I have the same problem with my 98 EX. Sometimes when I remove key I can hear the lock solenoids clicking over and over. I do have alarm and keyless remote. Also the drivers door is always locked. I have to lift the button while working handle to get out. Thinking I have a bad ground somewhere. P.S. I dont know how to operate alarm. Got car for free so can't complain I guess but that lock stuff is driving me insane.

Unplug the driver's door switch to see if the problem stops.

Does removal of dash fuse 14 (7.5A) and/or 28 (10A) prevent the problem?

I haven't tried that yet. I will in a couple of days. Just don't have time now. Will keep you informed. Thanks for the response.

The fuse removal test does not apply to your Civic. For you, post #5 applies. Did you try that test?

In my Del Sol, the unit behind the passenger door panel(some type of relay for the power locks?) had gotten wet one day when I had the panels taken apart. When it was plugged in it repeatedly tried locking the doors. This may be similar to your problem. I just let mine dry and it was fine and not fried.
