power gains on an LS/VTEC... with an ITR ECU/ ITR chipped ECU
I have a friend that had a 92+ JDM SIR swap and since he had to peice the swap together he had his P28 chipped with the ITR program. Another friend said that he could notice a drastic diff. between the JDM SIR ECU p30 and the ITR programmed/chipped ECU. I have an build LS/VTEC and i am trying to squeeze all the power I can out of it. Here is my setup:
b18a block bored to 81.5mm and decked
b18b crank and rods
81.5 ITR pistons/rings (made by a company called TopLine that makes exact replica pistons, coated, webbed and marked p73...the whole 9 yards so...shhh)
92 JDM SIR2 head, manifold, and cams
STR adjustable cam gears
stock valves
dual valve springs (SIR intake side, ITR exhaust side)
Ti retainers of some brand
OEM Honda b18b head gasket
Not saying that the bottom end can take the revs because of the rod:stroke ratio but I can tell where the engine is stuggling to make power and I don't plain to push the engine past 7700 unless I am racing on the track etc. Is the time of getting a chipped p28 worth the time/money... Will I see any changes in the motor?

Subscribbled. I have read on other "ecu power gain" threads that the gains improve with your parts. Generally meaning that if you have everytyhing stock it isn't going to do anything for any real perfomance boost. However with the basic bolt ons, from what I understand, the effectivenss of the chip becomes more present. The real way to test this is a dyno I suppose, if you are looking for numbers.
I am curious as to what others may have to say, and please correct me if I am wrong...
